Another Blog

I've had a crazy idea to start another blog. My goal is to take a picture a day for a year and post it to this blog.

I'm excited about this project.

Oh, it's hot out here.

"Oh it's hot out here, Mom. I need a Popsicle." I agreed that it was hot and I had a Popsicle too. Unfortunately, the Popsicles were a little on the frost bitten side.

Happy Fall

Happy Fall. Here's my mantel. I've been working on it for at least two months in my head. Emily tells me that the angel doesn't go with everything else. But, I love that angel and besides, it would take me two more months to figure out what put in its place.

Mrs. Santa Claus

I was dragging out some decorating items so that I could decorate the mantel for fall and there were a few Christmas items in the box as well. We picked these Santa items up at a yard sale this summer. Emily has definitely got my dollar's worth out of them and Christmas is not even here yet.

Swimming Lessons

Saturday morning I nearly had a heart attacked as I looked at the clock. I immediately dashed into the living room and informed Emily that it was time to go. We rushed upstairs and I grabbed the first swimming suit available for her and she jerked it on. Then she ran down the hall and down the stairs trying to put on her shorts and shirt as she went. I hastily gathered up her swimming gear and threw them into a backpack. Once in the car, I prayed all the way to the pool for the traffic lights to stay green.

The clock in the car flashed 10:00 as we pulled into the parking spot. We ran to the entrance to be met by a mother with her two daughters that informed me that the swimming lessons were canceled due to the holiday. The lady and I were both relieved that we were not the only mothers that didn't have it together. Our vibes were telling the other that we should form a club and call it the "Not all together Moms Club" but we couldn't because we couldn't get it together to do such a thing.

Once in the car, Emily lifted her hands and shouted "Praise the Lord! I hate swimming lessons." I told her the she cracked me up and she replied, "my pleasure." I laughed all the way home.

Labor Day

Wow, it only took us 35 minutes to get to downtown Atlanta this morning. We enjoy the aquarium especially when there isn't a crowd. We got there around 8:15 this morning and it was perfect. We got to see everything without getting knocked this way or that way.

Here are the pictures from our adventure.

I was thrilled to get such a good shot of this octopus. It was moving fast to get from one corner to the other and once it is in a corner it curls up and it is hard to tell what it is.
I've mention this before, I'm sure. But just in case that you have forgotten, I love watching the sea otters. We got prime viewing and they were quite the little entertainers today.
Here's my little poser in some shots.

Emily likes these little fellers. Me, I don't like them as well, but I think the shot turned out well.
These are interesting fish. They stay in their holes their entire lives if possible.
Jelly fish are very hard to photograph, but I managed to get this one that isn't too bad.
Emily had such a good time. We enjoyed watching her enjoying herself.

Let's go to the hop

Sunday instead of Sunday school, Ms. Kay and Ms. Charlie had a party for all the children in elementary grades. There was candy and a whole lot of dancing. Here's Emily ready to twirl until she drops.
