Good bye sweet Missy cat
With heavy hearts we said good-bye to our sweet Missy cat yesterday. Missy cat fought many battles of kidney disease and renal failure. There was no cure, she was on borrowed time. Missy cat was with us for 12 and 1/2 years. She was such a blessing to us. We wanted to give her one last act of kindness. She will be forever loved and remembered.

Snow!
So, what did we do when we got snow in Georgia?
The cat got in front of the fire and refused to move.
Hartford bundled up and found the sled.
Emily jumped on the sled and enjoyed the ride down
to the entrance to our subdivision
and down the path
to the school
where Hartford found a small hill
and pushed Emily down the hill.
And sometimes Hartford climbed aboard and enjoyed the ride as well.
Then, it was time to play on the slide.
Later in the day, Emily braved the cold and built a snowman
and a cat.
I took pictures.

Paper
Sewing 101
I thought was had gotten the best deal on this little sewing machine. It was $40 on Black Friday. Well, it was a booger trying to get it to work. But I kept trying and finally I got it to work. I don't know who was happier me or Emily.
Emily and I sewed all day and made a huge mess doing it.
But look at all the neat things that were made for her babies. There were scarves, bags, capes, and skirts.
The next morning, we were willing to get right back into sewing, but the sewing machine had different plans. One of these days I am going to drop the stupid no good machine from a very high building. Hartford tried to fix it, but it didn't work. It is extremely disappointing.

Crazy Balloons!
Once again, our church is holding classes on Wednesday nights. While I'm in a parenting class, Emily is in a balloon class. Here are some of her creations.
In this picture she is holding her newest stuffed animal. She purchased it with her own money.
Hartford took Emily to the mall on Wednesday for a round of free mini-golf since school got out early for conferences. While they were there, Emily was trying to talk Hartford into another stuffed animal. Later that night, I told Emily that it was a good thing that Daddy didn't get her one because if she got one more stuffed animal in her bed that they were going to turn on her and kick her out of bed for a change. I thought it was funny, but Emily didn't find me amusing. She told me to try harder.

From Sunday's sermon:
"It is very difficult to live each day as if God is with you if you don't need anything.
It is very difficult to wake up each morning and say, I'm going to respond to everything as if God is with me, when you have everything. It is incredibly difficult to live each day leaning moment by moment on your Heavenly Father, when you do OK all by yourself.
The test of prosperity is passed by a lot fewer people than the test of want and need. But isn't it true, we need God just as much when things are going well as when they're not?
So what if we simply asked God for a deeper desire for Him? I think He'd be honored to answer that prayer."
