Mud ball

It never fails that when it rains that water will collect in the dip of our driveway. Also, it never fails that Emily wants and thinks that she needs to be right in the middle of the puddle.

She really likes her new rubber boots.

She covered her huge beach ball in mud, just for me. How sweet is that?

Arabrian Mountain

Sunday was such a beautiful day. We decided to go to Arabian Mountain.

Arabian Mountain has funny looking treesand dragon flies and lots and lots of rocks. Emily was true to herself and filled my pockets full of rocks. She called them beautiful and I called them heavy.

I'm not sure if Emily was more surprised that the dragon fly landed on her pig tail or that I said, "hold still and I'll take a picture." I figured she shouldn't mind a dragon fly in her hair since she'll pick up any worm that she can find.
Please note Emily's school spirit shirt that she is wearing. It has a Ram on it. Well, she picked it out because rams climb mountains. I love her logic.

It's hard to tell in this picture, but she isn't wearing her high top tennis shoes. When I asked why she didn't wear her high tops, she stated that high tops were basketball shoes, not hiking shoes. I was shocked. I didn't realize she knew what basketball was since she isn't a sports girl, just kidding.
While we were hiking on a trail, we saw a deer running though the trees. When I say we, I really mean me and Hartford because Emily was preoccupied with an acorn.

Later at home, I joined Hartford and Emily with her new pink baseball mitt and we tossed a ball around and laughed like there was no tomorrow. Have I ever mentioned that Emily is funny as a monkey?

PTA Open House

Monday night was open house. I was surprised to see this little boy. He is a blast from the past. Micah was in the same Pre-K class as Emily. Now, his little sister is attending Pre-K. Wow, time is really flying. I couldn't resist pulling out the scrapbook from Emily's Pre-K days (which is a lot easier now that I've labeled the scrapbooks) and found pictures of Emily and Micah together at her birthday party. They sure have grown.

Notes from Sunday's sermon

Hebrews 4: 16 says:

"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

THAT is the promise of God - Mercy and Grace - in our time of need. Not deliverance or a rearrangement of our circumstances. I hope you will change my circumstances but I am clinging with confidence that I will find mercy and grace.

All too often I forget the differences between faith and hope and I am always forgetting that His will be done and not mine.

Dressing up

Emily saw this outfit a lot when we were at Disney and wanted one. It was way too expensive to buy at Disney. She is very pleased with it.

Consignment Sale #4 - The BIG one!

This is consignment sale is the biggest! It takes place at the Gwinnett County fairgrounds. It has 1,000 sellers. The madness is crazy, but the deals are so worth it. I even took the entire day off of work to shop. Hartford came along as well. Between us, we purchased 66 items for a total of $222.60 which is an average of $3.37 for each item.

The dolls in the bags will be a Christmas present.









Some of the computer games came in a lot and I'll sell the one of the stacks. One of the stacks we went ahead and gave her and the other stack of games will be saved for Christmas. The unicorn is new and I'll save it for Christmas.

Emily was singing thanks you over the items that we gave her.

Although I think we did well, I can't help be a little disappointed because I had hoped that we would find more Christmas presents.

Sunday morning

Emily has style as well as a messy room. I'm just glad that she still enjoys playing with her toys.
