10 Ways to Soar Through Life

Paraphrased from the book Unstoppable Me! by Dr. Wayne W Dyer with Kristina Tracy

Ten Ways to Soar Through Life

You’re Great - No Matter What

You are worthwhile. Learn from your mistakes, value yourself and all what you are.

Persistence Pays Off

It’s not about talent or if you are smart; it’s about never quitting. Don’t tell yourself that you can’t or dwell on mistakes. Patience and determination are really all that it takes.

Welcome the Unknown

Change is a good thing; it happens every day- don’t fear change, embrace it instead and life will be an adventure and you’ll look forward to what’s ahead.

You Have a Choice

Be true to yourself, don’t look to others to say you’re okay, you know it-so believe it! Don’t blame others for the things you say or do. Every choice that you make is all up to you.

Farewell to Worry

When stressful thoughts attack, remember positive actions on your part are the best way to fight back.

Peace Begins with You

Don’t let anger in your heart, take anger and let it go. When you’re mad and let it change the things you say and do, not only do you hurt yourself, but those around you, too.

Enjoy the Here-and-Now

Take pleasure in the here-and-now; don’t always be on the run. The road you take to reach your goal should be part of the fun.

Healthy Me!

Your body responds to what you think. Good thoughts and good humor are truly the best start for a super-healthy mind, body, spirit, and heart.

Creativity is the Key

Find your own way to meet the challenges life brings, stay true to yourself and let your ideas shine.

What Can You Give?

See goodness and beauty everywhere you turn, take every experience in life as a chance for you to learn. Don’t wonder what you can get, wonder what you can give.

I've printed this out and put on Emily's board that is in her room. Second grade is just around the corner and I want her to have the tools to successfully face the challenges. Oh, I'm not concerned about the subjects that the teacher will teach, those come easy to her. I'm concerned about her giving up too easily, holding grudges, thinking of only herself, her worrying, and her blaming of others. When situations arise this coming school year, I want her to encourage her to begin learning these words and applying them to her life. I've got to remember that she is her own person and I can't fight her battles and more times than not, I need to listen with my mouth completely shut and just give lots of hugs.

For Today: July 10th

FOR TODAY July 10, 2009

Outside my window...a little Tykes green circle bottom swing hangs in the huge tree by a yellow rope.

I am thinking...about getting ready for the upcoming consignment sales.

I am thankful for...Emily's light that shines from her soul. Her innocents and her giggles and her playfulness.

From the kitchen...leftover homemade lasagna and homemade carrot soup that Hartford made.

I am creating...a Disney Dream Vacation scrapbook, and a Remember When scrapbook.

I am going...to Kim's house tomorrow night to scrapbook.

I am reading...Duma Key by Stephen King.

I am hoping...that Hartford finds a job soon.

Around the house...Emily's Littlest Pet Shop toys are spread out in the living room. She has played with them all week.

One of my favorite things...is playing dolls with Emily.

Emily's Scripture Book

It has been on my heart for several months to make Emily a Scripture book. I completed it tonight. Here is a picture of it.
It has 16 Bible verses in it.

I hope that this gift touches her heart and her life. I don't think that she will think much about it when she receives it. Children, especially 7 & 1/2 year olds would much rather get a toy so I don't anticipate any excitement. But if it has been on my heart and for so long, God must be sending me a message. It could just well be one of those gifts that will take years to appreciate. Aren't those the best kind?

Tinker Bell

Our Disney vacation was a dream come true. I took a bunch of pictures. However, if I had to choose one picture to sum up the vacation, it would be this picture of Tinker Bell and Emily. Tinker Bell played her part and Emily was totally star struck with her. She couldn't even speak. Notice that Emily is holding something in her hand. It is a little Tinker Bell that lights up. Emily showed it to Tinker Bell and oh my goodness, Tinker Bell should have won a super duper prize for playing her part. Emily was jumping straight up and down when she left the the fairies. It was worth the 90 minute wait. Besides, it was raining outside.

Missing Emily

I miss Emily! I know that she is having a grand time at Grandma's, but I still miss her.

Gwinnett Braves

Lo and behold, it's the Braves! No, they aren't the Atlanta Braves, they are Better!! They are the Gwinnett Braves. They are the AAA division. They are just located down the road, the tickets were free (thanks to an officer at my job), the food is reasonably priced, we had awesome seats, and I don't think that there is a bad seat in the smaller stadium.
Check this out, people are enjoying the game sitting on a bank in outfield. I think that is cool.
No this is not a beaver. It's Chopper, he's a groundhog that looks like a beaver.
Note to self: wear sunscreen so you won't look like a raccoon the next day. Note to self: Go to a night game, it's got to be less miserably hot then.

Lost Tooth #8

On June 1, Emily finally lost that tooth that stubborn tooth.
That night she ask the following questions to the Tooth Fairy:

Does Tinker Bell and her friends exist?
Does Pixie Hollow exist?
What do you do with the teeth?
Is there more than one tooth fairy?
Is flying easy?
Can pixie dust make anybody fly?
I also have a question for Tinker Bell, Do tooth fairies live in Pixie Hollow?

Here is the Tooth Fairy's response:

Dearest Emily,

Your fairy dolls are gorgeous! Thank you for showing them to me. You are one of the sweetest children that I visit.

I live at Tooth Fairyland which is hidden away up in the sky. Although there are several tooth fairies, I am your only tooth fairy. We use the teeth to build just about everything at Tooth Fairyland. Sometimes the teeth shine so bright, you can see them as stars at night.

Flying is easy for me. I was born with the magic to fly.

Although the fairy dust that I leave you is special, humans can’t use its magic.

I believe that Tinker Bell and her friends are real and that they live in Pixie Hollow. Some of my friends and I would like to go visit someday, but we can’t figure out where Pixie Hollow is located. Legend has it that Pixie dust can make anyone or anything fly. I think it would be fun to see a cat fly. But, I don’t think that the birds would be too happy.

Sweet dreams,
T.F.
