Swimming lessons

Emily admitted that she had a better time at swimming lessons this morning. I try to keep telling her that practice makes perfect but it goes in one ear and out the other. She doesn't like to put effort into things.

I noticed her at one time when she was swimming free style without a board, she looked up, saw the side of the pool close by and went under and swam perfectly underwater for that last little bit. I questioned her later about it and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. I told her that I thought that she had an easier time swimming underwater than on top of the water. She grinned a sideways grin and said, "Yeah."
